Rancho Chiripa was an idea as early
as 1973 when first introduced to the breed
and thrilled with the ride on a champion
Peruvian stallion. The dream became a
reality in 1997 with the purchase of my
first Peruvian Horse. I am indebted to many
knowledgeable and selfless Peruvian breeders
who educated me about the breed prior to
that purchase.
We are dedicated to pursuing excellence
in the wonderful Peruvian Horse. Small in
size but big in quality, we have put our
years of experience in breeding exquisite,
healthy and top-winning show dogs to good
use. Showing American Saddlebred and
Tennessee Walking Horses for others, as well
as my own pleasure horses, has also been of
great help. We know soundness, movement,
temperament, and of course, beauty. It is
our firm belief you must have all of these
elements plus smoothness, in a quality
Peruvian Horse.
We show and trail ride our horses, and
occasionally breed. The decision to breed is
not made lightly, and we are extremely
selective when planning to bring a new
Peruvian into the world. Rancho Chiripa horses
are kept up to date on foot care,
vaccinations and worming. In addition, they
have all been flex-tested, and are
flex-tested again prior to breeding and for prepurchase exams. We do not sell any horse
without a prepurchase exam. This is for your
peace of mind and our reputation.
It it our opinion that a show horse
should also be a trail horse, and we
therefore strive to keep horses that are
suitable for either venue.
